Letter from the Secretary-General

Dear Delegates,

On behalf of the Secretariat, I am truly honoured to welcome you to the tenth edition of the Scottish Model United Nations conference organised by Bombay Scottish School, Powai.

 

SMUN is not only a conference that will benefit you on an academic level in engaging debates based on the expanse of your knowledge, but it is also your chance to meet new people and create unforgettable memories.

 

At SMUN our goal is to empower delegates with the courage to voice their opinions as artful diplomats. Each delegate will have the opportunity to present their research, discuss, and work in teams to strive towards creating a better world; a fair and just world with integrity and freedom.

 

Lack of representation is the first step towards social injustice, and this is why our conference encourages the youth to don different roles and participate in debates that address global challenges today, and diligently work towards sharing ideas and perspectives that will help overcome these

challenges.

 

As we march into our decadal year of SMUN, our ideals of providing a superior and enriching experience to all our participants serve as a guiding light that shines through the participants’ intellectual and personal development.

 

We are excited to embark on this unique journey with you, and we cannot wait to welcome you to SMUN this August!
